Job Title: Composite Engineers
Job Overview:
We are recruiting experienced Composite Engineers to join an elite Formula One team. These contract roles are critical to delivering high-performance components during the demanding pre-season and race season. The roles span across multiple disciplines, including Laminators, Trimmers, Machinists, and Patternmakers, offering opportunities across various shifts to suit individual preferences.
The successful candidates will contribute to the manufacture and preparation of precision composite parts, utilizing their expertise to meet the rigorous standards required in Formula One. Candidates must be highly skilled and reliable, with a minimum of 2 years previous experience ensuring readiness for the fast-paced environment.
Positions and Shift Requirements
Laminators
Shifts Available: Days, Nights, Weekend Nights, and Weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Layup and lamination of pre-preg carbon fiber materials.
Application of vacuum bagging techniques and curing processes.
Strict adherence to technical drawings and build manuals.
Conducting quality inspections to ensure flawless finishes.
Trimmers
Shifts Available: Days, Nights, Weekend Nights, and Weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Precision trimming of carbon fiber and composite components.
Surface preparation and finishing to meet aerodynamic and aesthetic standards.
Use of hand tools, power tools, and CNC trimming equipment.
Collaboration with Laminators and Engineers for final assembly.
Composite Machinists
Shifts Available: Nights, Weekend Nights, and Weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Operating CNC machines to manufacture high-precision composite parts.
Programming, setting, and maintaining equipment for optimal performance.
Ensuring consistent quality and dimensional accuracy through rigorous checks.
Patternmakers
Shifts Available: Weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Construction and finishing of precise patterns and molds for composite production.
Working with tooling materials such as epoxy boards, carbon, and aluminum.
Collaboration with design teams to ensure the accuracy of patterns for component manufacturing.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within motorsport or aerospace industries.
Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes.
Ability to work under pressure in a high-performance environment.
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Desirable Attributes:
Previous experience in Formula One or other high-level motorsport sectors.
Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques and tooling.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
