Are you an experienced Production Operative with previous electrical or mechanical experience?

We are recruiting for a number of roles with Caterpillar based in their Larne facility.

Job title: Production Operative

Job type: Temporary - ongoing

Location: Larne, BT40 1EJ

Pay rate:

• Day Shift - 12.83/hr.
• Night Shift - 17.11/hr.
• Overtime - 19.25/hr (First ten hours)
• Overtime - 25.66/hr. (After ten hours overtime)
• 37.5 hours per week. (Mon - Thurs)

Timings:

Day: Monday: 07:00 - 17:15, Tues - Thurs: 07:00 - 16:45

Night: Monday: 21:00 - 07:15, Tues - Thurs: 21:00 - 06:45

Must be flexible for both the shifts

Duties:

• Assembling, sub-assemblies, options and other components of generator sets.
• Works from prints and standard work instructions to produce components of generator sets and similar large assemblies.
• Works across various areas of the business, including, but not limited to, machine shop, paintline, nutsert and assembly.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Compliance with the 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
• Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
• Train other employees if and when required.
• Any other appropriate duties.

Required Qualifications:

• The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
• Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns
• Good communication skills, experience working in a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• The ability to use hand tools, power tools, and to be able to read and interpret drawings.
• Previous experience working in a lean environment.
• Previous electrical/mechanical experience.
• Experience working to takt times.
• Reasonable level of computer literacy where required.
