Job Description

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an enthusiastic English Teacher to give lessons to Key Stage 4 students in a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester. The Unit covers two campuses, one in Hulme and one in Chorlton.

If you are experienced in teaching English at a secondary level, managing pupil behaviour in a PRU or SEMH setting and pro active at student engagement, then we want to hear from you!

You need to be comfortable dealing with SEMH interventions and restorative practices as well as having previously taught English. The organisation is a specialist Pupil Referral Unit who consistently liaises with the family, parents, and carers to enable the best engagement for the students.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location - Hulme, Chorlton

Position - English Teacher

Start date - Jan 2025

End date (if applicable) - July 2025

Contract type - Long term temp

Full time/part time - Full time

Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP180 per day

Hours - 8:45 am - 3:45 pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, PGCE or equivalent

Previous experience working in a UK school

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child related references
