About the role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Do you have the expertise and dedication to support students in achieving their full potential? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a highly supportive and inclusive primary school in the vibrant borough of Harrow! As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about SEN education, looking to deepen their expertise and positively impact children’s lives.
Application Requirements:
• Have prior experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or similar needs.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess a calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting children.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Hold a valid Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one).
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD to enhance their learning and development.
• Collaborating with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Employing creative strategies and using tailored resources to meet the needs of students.
• Promoting social interaction and confidence-building activities.
• Assisting in creating an inclusive, safe, and positive classroom environment.
