SEN TA with Specialism in SEMH Needs
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Pay: £85-£100 per day

About the role:
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with students in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who have social, emotional, and mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children facing SEMH challenges and be able to implement strategies that support their social and emotional development. You will work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to create tailored interventions that help children overcome barriers to learning and build confidence and self-esteem.
In this role, you will provide one-on-one and small group support, deliver targeted interventions, and help create a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students. You will be pivotal in ensuring that students feel safe and supported, both academically and emotionally, throughout the school day.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or with SEMH students.
• A passion for working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A proactive, enthusiastic approach to supporting students.
• A DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEMH needs.
• Work alongside class teachers to implement individualized learning plans.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviours and supporting emotional regulation.
• Help create and maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of SEMH-focused interventions.
• Monitor student progress and work with the SENCO to adapt strategies as needed.
