teach195. is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join their team. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the school’s kitchen and dining services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing excellent service to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

* Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, portioning, and plating food in line with the school’s menus and dietary requirements.

* Serving Meals: Support the serving of hot and cold food to students and staff during meal times, ensuring excellent customer service.

* Cleaning and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen and dining environment by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and following food hygiene standards.

* Stock Management: Assist with the receipt and storage of food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and that stock is organised.

* Support Team Members: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations, including setting up and tidying away dining areas.

* Health and Safety: Follow all relevant food safety and health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with school policies and standards.

Requirements:

* Previous experience in catering or kitchen work is desirable but not essential.

* A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team.

* Excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.

* Knowledge of basic food hygiene practices (a Food Hygiene Certificate is a bonus).

* Flexibility and a willingness to assist with various kitchen and dining tasks as needed.
