As a dynamic SENCO, you will inspire students through high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging them to reach their full potential. The successfull SENCO will have:

• Qualified Teacher with QTS
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment
• Degree in a relevant subject area
• Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area
• Demonstrate a student centered approach to teaching, including an appreciation of inclusive provision and practices
• Experience of conducting training/leading INSET
• Involvement in self-evaluation and development planning
• Experience of working in partnership with parents/carers to facilitate effective links between home and school
• Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
• Understanding of what makes quality first teaching, and of effective intervention strategies
• Ability to plan and evaluate interventions
