The Opportunity
Join a dynamic, high-performing team at a top-tier COMAH site with high-hazard pipelines and critical chemical processes. This role offers the chance to lead a technical team responsible for ensuring safety compliance, providing daily production support, and delivering improvement projects. Due to this, our client is looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join their dynamic and ambitious team.
This leadership role requires ultimate responsibility for process engineering work, including interactions with regulatory authorities. You’ll work closely with Asset and Site Managers to influence strategic decisions, manage high-performing teams, and deliver manufacturing excellence.
Contract - this role has been deemed inside IR35
Location: Cheshire
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop and implement technical strategies to drive asset improvement and align with manufacturing goals.
Lead SHE initiatives to ensure compliance with legislation and the highest safety standards.
Oversee process engineering activities, ensuring adherence to design authority standards.
Manage a diverse technical team of process engineers, scientists, and contractors.
Maintain and develop expertise to sustain and optimize asset operations, while contributing technical consultancy.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Chartered Chemical Engineer with senior-level experience.
A strong background in process design, troubleshooting, and plant operations.
Proven leadership skills with a focus on technical safety and compliance.
Expertise in managing high-hazard assets within budget and resource constraints.The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a chemical site. These can include, chemical burns, trips and falls, overexertion, cuts and scrapes, chemical exposure, inhalation of chemicals and confined spaces. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
