Southend's Commissioning Directorate are looking to appoint a full-time Quality Improvement Officer in a fixed term capacity until November 2026.
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 1 day a week.
You are required to be a car driver and have use of a car for this position.
The main purpose of the Quality and Improvement position is to improve the quality of care and support experienced by residents of Southend. A key part of the role is to inspect, monitor, develop and implement quality improvement plans that enable providers to improve services. This requires the successful candidate to carry out the statutory duty five, under the Care Act 2014 which requires the council to have a diverse and quality social care provision in their area.
Working closely with service providers, as well as users of the service and their friends and families, the roles will focus on the co-evaluation of services to ensure users' views and suggestions for improvement are implemented.
Key responsibilities:* You will inspect services and record the results of the inspections* You will ensure inspections include people who use services and their families and friends.* You will assess and reconcile quality information to identify opportunities for improvement.* You will contribute to the collective team working at all levels in the council and the wider health and care system.* You will ensure PAMMS and other quality systems are used effectively.* You will have responsibility for an area of organisational safeguarding
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will need to have experience in managing a social care service, as well as administration, team work and good communication experience.
You need to have experience/knowledge of CQC and Ofsted regulations and have experience in developing and monitoring service improvement plans for care and support settings.
You will need to be able to function under pressure, managing a caseload which involves meeting good outcomes for people in receipt of services.
The successful candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and engagement skills and knowledge of current health and social care policy and legislation.
