Are you an experienced Payroll Specialist or Payroll Manager looking for an exciting interim opportunity for 6 months?
Our client, a dynamic and growing business based in Dudley, is seeking an accomplished Payroll professional to take full end-to-end ownership of payroll. This six-month contract Payroll Specialist role offers a chance to make an immediate impact, ensuring payroll runs seamlessly while maintaining compliance and accuracy.
You’ll report directly to the Human Resource Director for EMEA and work closely with various stakeholders, both internal and external. You will take responsibility for all aspects of payroll using established payroll systems. Ideally, you will be available at short notice and benefit from a handover with the current postholder before they leave.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
* Manage end-to-end payroll processes for c200 employees, including shifts and overtime across multiple group companies, ensuring timely and accurate payments;
* Process new starters, leavers, and employee changes while addressing and resolving payroll queries;
* Handling of employee benefits payroll processing, including life insurance, income protection, BUPA;
* Administer auto-enrolment pensions and ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., SSP, SMP, SPP);
* Submit information to HMRC, including year-end returns and employee tax forms (e.g., P11Ds, P45s);
* Handle bonus, overtime calculations, and the internal administration of both weekly and monthly payrolls;
* Prepare and process payroll journals and liaise with stakeholders to maintain accurate reporting.
Ideally, you will have:
* Strong experience in payroll management, ideally handling payroll for 200+ employees;
* Familiarity with iTrent or similar payroll systems;
* Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and taxation rules, including auto-enrolment pensions;
* Salary sacrifice experience an advantage;
* Proficient in Excel and experience with ERP software and Microsoft Office;
* Attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and respect for confidentiality;
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams and external stakeholders.
