Children & Families - Social Worker

Bristol City Council are looking to expand their current team. The Children & Families team is looking for a Social Worker to join a well-structured and organised team. This Children & Family Social Worker role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

• The position involves undertaking assessments under S17 & S47 and then working with children in need, with children on a CP plan and with families in pre-proceedings or in the court system.
• The service is offered by small units made up of a Team Manager, 3 Social Workers, a Family Support Worker and an Assistant.
• The teams sit together, and we do not hot-desk.
• There is good management support and many opportunities for joint working.
• The city is vibrant and diverse, and the work is varied.
• There are good Early Intervention Services and support from voluntary agencies in the city.
• We use a strengths based approach and systemic principals in our work with families.
• The recording system is Liquid Logic (LCS)

Requirements / Experience preferred:

• HCPC Registration
• 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
