Job Description

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified and passionate SEN Teacher to join a Primary School in Gloucester. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills and provide engaging, tailored teaching to meet the diverse needs of all students, particularly those with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the national curriculum while catering to the unique learning needs of students with SEN.
• Classroom Management: Create a positive and structured classroom environment, using effective behaviour management strategies to encourage respect and learning.
• Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes. Utilize assessment data to inform future planning and targeted interventions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with fellow teachers, support staff, and school leadership to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning for all students.
• Parent Communication: Establish effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behaviour, and any concerns, fostering a strong home-school partnership.
• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities and participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance your teaching practice and knowledge of SEN.
• Safeguarding: Uphold and promote the school's safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• Qualifications: Teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience: Previous experience in a UK primary school setting, particularly with SEN, is required.
• Training: Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable; some training will be provided.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, candidates must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional references related to childcare or education.
