Role - Senior Science Technician

Location - Dover

Start Date - ASAP

Hours - Full time

Daily Rate - 100 - 120 a day depending on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Science Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in the Dover area. As a vital member of the Science Department, you will play a key role in supporting colleagues and the students in their practical laboratory work.

Key Responsibilities As A Senior Science Technician

• Preparation of Materials - prepare and set up equipment and materials and Science experiments and demonstrations according to curriculum requirements
• Maintenance of equipment - ensure all laboratory equipment is well maintained, calibrated and safe for use by students and staff
• Health and Safety - Implement and uphold strict health and safety protocols in the laboratory including the safe disposal of hazardous materials
• Support for Teachers - assist Science teachers during lessons, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed
• Inventory Management - Maintain accurate records of laboratory supplies and equipment and assist in ordering new materials when necessary

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience of working in a laboratory environment, preferably in an educational setting for at least 2 years
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures related to laboratory work
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Hold or be willing to apply an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK
