Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Pay Rate: £20.17 per hour
Location: Stourbridge
Hours: Full-time or part-time, flexible

Smart Education is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist school supporting students aged 2 19 with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), autism, ADHD, PDA, anxiety, and developmental trauma.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will collaborate with the whole school team to deliver personalised assessments and interventions. You will work creatively across universal, targeted, and specialist levels, using evidence-based approaches to address the individual needs of students.

• Manage your own caseload, ensuring coverage of EHCP targets and student needs.
• Develop and implement Total Communication strategies, including AAC (high and low tech).
• Conduct informal and formal assessments and deliver 1:1, group, and class-based interventions.
• Support the application of Zones of Regulation throughout the school.
• Offer evidence and support for Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) targets and educational tribunals.
• Build and nurture solid working relationships with staff and students.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and parents/carers to ensure a holistic approach.
• Reflect and develop practices through protected time for liaison and continuous professional development.

• Membership with HCPC and RCSLT.
• BA or BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
• Experience working with autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with a flexible and professional approach.
