Job Advertisement: School Caretaker

Location: Secondary School, Bury
Salary: Up to 110 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days a week, Long-term position
Shift Pattern: Possible split shift system

We are seeking a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to join our supportive team at a secondary school in Bury. As a caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running and upkeep of the school premises, providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The position offers a great opportunity for someone with previous experience working in a school environment to contribute to the day-to-day operations of a thriving school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Carry out general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, decorating, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
• Set up and prepare rooms for school events and activities.
• Oversee the opening and closing of the school, adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Assist with the security of the premises, including monitoring alarm systems and locking/unlocking buildings.
• Ensure that the school is fully stocked with cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Provide general support to the school as required, including moving furniture and other practical tasks.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working in a school environment, with a solid understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, students, and visitors.
• A positive and reliable work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
