Location: Huddersfield (HD1)
Start Date: ASAP/January 2025
Daily Rate: £94 to £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Sports Graduate to join a client school in Huddersfield either as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor.

This exciting role offers the chance to assist teachers in the classroom, lead sporting activities, and provide general cover across different subjects. Key Responsibilities:

As a Sports Graduate (Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor), you will:

• Assist teaching staff by supporting students in their learning, focusing on both academic subjects and physical education.
• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and that learning continues effectively across different subjects.
• Lead small group or one-on-one sessions, particularly in sports-related activities, helping students develop both their physical and academic skills.
• Support the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and providing additional help to students who may require extra attention.
• Help manage student behavior, ensuring a positive learning environment during lessons, break times, and extra-curricular activities.
• Act as a role model in promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle through sports sessions, boosting students' engagement and motivation.
• Support the school's educational and pastoral goals by building rapport with students and contributing to a positive school culture.

Requirements:

To thrive as a Sports Graduate (Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor), you should have:

• A degree in Sports Studies, Physical Education, or a related field.
• A passion for working with children and young people, especially in supporting their academic and physical development.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage students of different ages and abilities.
• Flexibility to step into both teaching assistant and Cover Supervisor roles, adapting to various classroom settings and subjects.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Currently residing in the UK.
• A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
