SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 3 Class

Salary: Starting £90-95 per day | Start Date: January 2025

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with Autism? We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Walthamstow.

This full-time role involves providing 1-1 support to a child in Year 3 with Autism, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive within the classroom environment. You will also be required to support as a general class TA when 1-1 support is not required.

Your Role:

Work closely with the class teacher to create a positive learning experience tailored to the pupil's needs.

Assist with implementing personalised education plans (EHCPs).

Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development through structured and engaging activities.

Collaborate with the school's SENCO, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience supporting children with Autism or other additional needs, ideally in a primary school setting.

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with diverse needs.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively liaise with staff and families.

Knowledge of strategies and resources to support SEN pupils, including sensory activities and social stories, is highly desirable.
