We’re looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Learning Disabilities Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN). Could this be you?

Position: Band 6 Learning Disabilities CPN
Location: South London
Duration: 3-6 months ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Friday (09:00am-17:00pm)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £27-£30 per hour
A Typical Day in This Role
As a Band 6 Learning Disabilities CPN, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in the community. Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive, autonomous assessments of individuals’ mental health, social, and environmental needs.
Developing and delivering tailored care plans to meet each person’s unique requirements.
Providing crisis intervention and safeguarding support as needed.
Utilizing evidence-based practices to assess, plan, and implement interventions.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, carers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive and effective care.
Keeping accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with professional and organizational standards.
Acting as a key advocate for individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Staying informed about changes in mental health legislation and best practices to deliver the highest standard of care.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications: Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD).
Experience: Proven experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
Skills: Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
Approach: A commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.
Working Hours and Duration
This is a Monday-to-Friday role with flexible hours to suit your schedule. The initial contract will be for 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension.
