TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in the Hull area, supporting with their recruitment for a Special Needs Teaching assistant / SEND LSA to start with immediate effect. The school offers an alternative curriculum to students aged 11-16 who are unable to attend mainstream education. The setting is centred on pupil s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social, and behavioural skills.

The school is looking for a proactive and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to take on this long-term role potentially leading to a permanent placement for the right candidate.

The Successful Special Needs Teaching assistant / SEND LSA will have:

• Experience supporting students who are verbal and non-verbal
• Experience with ASD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities
• Feel comfortable around students with challenging behaviour
• Exceptional behaviour management skills

The role will include:

• Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation
• Work with pupil who requires additional support
• Leading group work
• Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
• Full Time work Mon Fri 8:30am 3:30pm
