SEN-TA – Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Pay: £85-£100 per day

About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN-TA) to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including those who are non-verbal. This full-time, long-term role is crucial to ensuring students receive the tailored care and guidance they need to flourish.
You will work closely with students, teachers, and parents, assisting with EHCPs, implementing individual learning plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. The role involves one-on-one support and small group interventions, helping students develop their communication, social, and academic skills. Early applications are encouraged, and shortlisted candidates will participate in a face-to-face interview and trial day.

Application Requirements: The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ASD.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to use alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS or Makaton).
• Possess a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
• Have at least 1 year of experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Be skilled in supporting non-verbal children and tailoring interventions to individual needs.
• Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desired but not essential).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including non-verbal children.
• Implement and adapt individual learning plans (EHCPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Use alternative communication methods such as PECS or Makaton to aid in communication and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
• Foster social, emotional, and academic development by creating a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
