Description
We have an opportunity for a Network Engineer Highway to join the team with specific professional expertise in network operations and assist the Street Works Team in delivering its objectives under the London Permit Scheme.
Responsibilities
Part of the Enforcement & Safety Division Network Management & Street Works Team, it is responsible for effectively and efficiently delivering the Network Management Duty under the Traffic Management Act 2004 to deliver the best value and ensure continuous improvement to reduce congestion on the road networks and other authorities following the Network Management Duty under the Traffic Management Act 2004.
Qualification – Essential
* GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
* HNC in civil engineering or experience in Network Management or Highway management-related work.
* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting.
* General knowledge of the workings of local government.
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant areas of the service, i.e. network management.
* Detailed knowledge of national policies and guidance regarding the service area.
* Experience with technical and administrative issues related to the relevant service.
* Experience with ICT requirements of the relevant service.
* Experience in preparing/producing documents, drawings and reports as appropriate.
* Vast experience with technical and administrative issues associated with the relevant service
* Experience in programme and budget management
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, members of the public, consultants, contractors, etc. Ability to maintain a high level of work output and meet deadlines.
* Ability to demonstrate working as part of a team.
* Proven organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to give accurate and up-to-date technical advice.
* Ability to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
* Good analytical skills
* Ability to work under pressure and own initiative to maintain high work output and meet agreed deadlines
* Ability to provide technical support and specialist guidance to other officers within the group and other Officers.
* Ability to keep abreast of the latest technical developments and innovations.
* Full current UK or other driving licence valid on UK roads with no more than three penalty points.
