We are seeking an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced educators to support students in their social, emotional, and academic development. Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the delivery of tailored educational programs and interventions for students with SEMH needs, behavior challenges, and ASD.
Providing one-on-one and small group support to enhance students' learning experiences and engagement.
Supporting students in managing their emotions and behaviors in a constructive manner.
Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Promoting positive behavior and resilience, helping students to build self-esteem and confidence.
Maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and understanding of SEMH and SEN needs.
What We Are Looking For:
Previous experience working in a school setting, particularly with SEMH, ASD, or challenging behavior is highly desirable.
A compassionate and patient approach to education, with a genuine desire to support and motivate young people.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3 or equivalent) is advantageous.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
