Fawkes and Reece is a leading provider of civil engineering and construction services, specializing in infrastructure projects that make a real impact. We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our team and oversee projects with a focus on Horizontal Drilling. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing site operations, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of our projects, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Role Overview:
As a Site Agent with Horizontal Drilling experience, you will be responsible for managing all site activities, supervising the delivery of the project, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance. Your expertise in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) will be essential in overseeing the drilling and installation processes, liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams, and ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise horizontal drilling operations, ensuring the execution of drilling work is in line with project specifications, budget, and timelines.
Coordinate site activities and resources to maintain smooth project progress and high standards of quality.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
Provide technical expertise and advice related to horizontal drilling techniques and equipment.
Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, to resolve any issues and ensure effective communication.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site progress, project costs, and any issues that may arise.
Mentor and develop junior site staff, fostering a strong team environment.
Monitor and manage project costs to ensure the project stays within budget.Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Site Agent or Site Manager in the civil engineering sector.
Extensive hands-on experience with Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), ideally in utility installation or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of drilling equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
Solid knowledge of construction processes, including health and safety, quality control, and project management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A relevant construction qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, or equivalent) is desirable.
