Job Opportunity: Biodiversity Officer

Location: North Midlands

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) - would also consider part time

Position Type: Interim

Salary: £40 /hour

Length of contract: 3 months initial, likely extension in April

Essential:

A qualification in ecology or related field

Practical experience in biodiversity net gain assessments.

A proven track record of working within local authority teams.

Desirables:

Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in partnership working.

Membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)

Strong knowledge of wildlife law, policies, and procedures relevant to planning and development.

Proficiency in IT tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Access) and specific biodiversity software.
