PURPOSE:
To support the planning function within project team ensuring quality and consistency of all planning and associated reporting. To maintain key planning criteria in line with the production and management of the quality project delivery schedules. You must have experience working on large infrastructure/transport projects to apply for this position.
This role is remote, but there will be occasional travel required to York and London. Travel expenses and time will be covered by the clients project.
This position falls INSIDE IR35.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is part of the Integrated Programme Delivery Office and will work closely with the Integration and Partnership Managers and the Reporting team.
·To integrate project schedules into the Integrated Programme Schedule (IPS) in line with the functional processes and project requirements.
·Good experience of progress collation and reporting cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
·Support key interdependencies between projects and programmes confirming appropriate monitoring and action is undertaken as required in a timely manner.
·Demonstrate through agreed performance indicators the efficiency and effectiveness of the project schedules developed and utilised.
·Validate schedules in line with the agreed functional Planning Strategy for completeness and fitness for purpose.
·Support of interface between the planning function and the project teams and interface between the other project support functions such as Risk & Value; Cost Management etc.
·Understanding and support of schedule risk analysis.
·Strong management of Schedule Baselines.
·Flexible planning skills to provide ad-hoc analysis and data exports in support of reporting outputs
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
·Implementation completed efficiently and effectively with least possible disruption within agreed cost & time
·Fully satisfied major stakeholders and funders
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
·Relevant successful experience in the planning and delivery of construction/engineering projects.
·Relevant successful experience of proprietary software planning/scheduling tools including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
·Competent in use of Powerpoint to 'visualise' key schedule data
·Good communication skills at all levels and a team player.
·Good information technology user skills.
·Experience of transport infrastructure delivery programmes.
·Understanding of key stakeholders such as DfT
