1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 2 - Primary School - Southwark, London (SE8) | £95 - £105 per day, term time only | Full-time | Long-term to Permanent

About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 2 student in a primary school in Southwark (SE8).

This role focuses on providing tailored support to a child with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum and achieve developmental milestones. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with SEN. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalised 1:1 support for a Year 2 student with SEN, ensuring they remain engaged and focused on their learning activities

Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet the student's specific needs

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement and monitor an individual education plan (IEP)

Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction, helping the child build relationships with their peers

Support the student in managing transitions and routines, creating a structured and supportive learning environmentThe Ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience working with SEN children in a primary school or similar setting

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting young learners

Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies effectively

Confidence in managing behaviour and adapting strategies to meet the needs of the student

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essentialBenefits:
