Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA)

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 per day

About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA) with a strong focus on supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL). In this vital role, you will work closely with classroom teachers to provide tailored support to children, enabling them to thrive academically and socially.

You’ll be supporting small groups or individual pupils through focused interventions to improve language acquisition, comprehension, and overall confidence in the classroom. Application Requirements:

• Prior experience working with Key Stage 1 pupils in a classroom setting.

• A proven ability to support children with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

• A calm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with excellent communication skills.

• A strong understanding of boosters, interventions, and phonics.

• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities: As the Key Stage 1 EAL Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with EAL in understanding and developing their English skills.

• Work one-to-one and in small groups to deliver targeted interventions.

• Assist the class teacher in planning and preparing engaging, differentiated learning activities.

• Help to monitor and assess pupil progress, identifying areas for further support.

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
