Children's Social Worker - Assessment and Safe and Supported Teams

35 per hour

We are seeking experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join our dynamic Assessment and Safe and Supported Teams at North Tyneside Council. These teams play a vital role in safeguarding children, promoting their well-being, and ensuring they receive the support they need.

About the Role:

As a Children's Social Worker, you will:

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks
• Develop and implement effective care plans to safeguard children and promote their well-being
• Work collaboratively with a range of professionals, including police, health, and education, to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection
• Provide high-quality casework, including direct work with children and families, and liaising with external agencies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements
• Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as required

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, MSW)
• Significant experience in child protection work, including assessments and case management
• A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals
• A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their well-being
• A flexible approach to work, including the ability to work outside of standard office hours when required
