Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Location: North Cardiff

Start Date: January 6th

Hours: Full-time (8:30am - 3:30pm)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in North Cardiff. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural challenges and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a mainstream classroom. Your focus will be on supporting their academic and personal development, ensuring they thrive in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD and behavioural challenges.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective strategies.

Assist with academic tasks, fostering the pupil's engagement and progress.

Support the pupil's personal development, promoting social skills and positive behaviour.

Maintain open communication with parents and staff regarding the pupil's progress.Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school setting is essential, ideally in a similar 1:1 support role.

Qualifications: Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate and be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Skills: A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach with excellent communication skills
