SEMH Teacher
Location: Stockport
Salary: £25,000 – £42,000
Position: Permanent
Simply Education is proud to be working with a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Stockport, currently seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a range of core subjects, including Maths, Science, English, and Functional Skills.
The school supports students who are neurodiverse, particularly those associated with ADHD and complex behaviours, who may find mainstream education challenging. The school aims to create a nurturing, supportive environment with the ultimate goal of reintegrating these students back into a mainstream setting.
With a small cohort of approximately 20 pupils, the school provides a personalised approach to learning, ensuring every student receives the care and attention they deserve. The school consists of a strong core team including the Head of School, four teachers, and four support staff, all working together to provide a positive, secure learning environment.
The school are keen to hear from teachers with experience in both mainstream or SEMH settings. If you're looking to transition into SEMH education, the school is committed to providing the necessary training and support to help you succeed.

Emotional Support: A passion for positively impacting students’ lives and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Qualifications: To hold QTS/QTLS.
Experience: Previous experience in a school environment is required, with a preference for those with secondary school experience.
Knowledge: Understanding of alternative provisions and working with students with special educational needs.
Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to effectively support students.
Communication: Professional communication skills when working with both students and staff.
Promotion of Values: Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
Time Management: The ability to effectively manage time for planning, delivery, and assessment.
