Across key sectors Water, Power, Energy, and Aggregates our client's regional office network and manufacturing hub in the heart of Somerset (part of a 60,000ft head office complex) support the delivery of diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure.
Projects range in value from £5k to £15m. Our client takes the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes and supports Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.
Role Purpose The role's purpose is to support the installation teams with planned and reactive fault diagnoses, basic commissioning, panel modification, and technical queries at the site level. This involves communication with various departments within the business and liaising with customers. The role offers varied exposure to different areas of the water industry, providing a challenging environment on a day-to-day basis.
The Role - Contracted to 40 hours per week on-site, Monday to Friday.
- Paid hourly, with overtime paid. Weekend overtime is paid at an inflated rate.
- Travel time paid door-to-door on top of contracted/overtime hours.
- Company van provided.
- All power tools and testing instruments provided.
- Assist with and carry out all types of Low Voltage electrical work.
- Reasonable understanding of mechanical systems.
- NICEIC Testing.
- Fault finding/diagnostics without drawings and support.
- Panel/Circuit modifications without drawings and support.
- Commissioning of various equipment relevant to the water industry.
- Work with Systems Integrator on commissioning and modifications.
- Navigate HMI/SCADA systems.
- Prepare RAMS, ensuring safe working conditions.
Requirements Required - Gold ECS card (preferred)
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- Fitness to work medical
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation and company procedures
- Willingness to learn and undertake occupational and Health and Safety training
- Prepared to take responsibility for self and others
- Able to work on own initiative and ability to give and take instruction
- Completion of appropriate electrical qualification
Desirable - EUSR
- Knowledge of:
- Ethernet & industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, DeviceNet, etc.)
- VSD, soft start, star/delta, DOL starters
- PLC & HMI/SCADA (programming not required)
