Role: Cable Systems Engineer / Cable Design Engineer
Sector: Offshore Wind
Location: Home based, occasional travel to Client offices in Glasgow required
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months with probable extension
Rates: 650 - 700 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK

My renewable energy client is urgently seeking a Cable Systems Engineer / Cable Design Engineer for a remote working role with occasional travel to their offices in Glasgow. Suitable candidates should be knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations and Electrical calculations rather than burial tool assessments.

Responsibilities:

• Technical input in support of Offshore Export cable selection and refinement
• Co-ordination of cable route survey scopes and assessment of cable burial risk / opportunities across proposed routes
• Development of Inter-Array cable layouts and optimisation
• Provide definition of cable installation methodologies in support of project consenting inputs
• Assessment of cable rating constraints along both onshore and offshore Export Cable corridors
• Development of execution strategy for both Export and Inter-Array cables and development of project programme
• Support in engagement with supply chain, ensuring project strategy aligns with market expectations

You should demonstrate:

• FEED stage into design, ideally in HVDC.
• Electrically design biased rather than installation manger experience.
• Candidate will need to be knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations and Electrical calculations rather than burial tool assessments.
