Higher Level Teaching Assistant South Wakefield

PK Education are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in our partner school in South Wakefield. The role is full time from January 2025 Mon-Fri until at least SATs and potentially longer for the right person.

As a HLTA in this role you will be responsible for working with Year 6 Interventions leading up to SATs. We would like to hear from committed childcare and special needs professionals who are truly dedicated to enriching the lives of children and young people by providing exciting and stimulating activities that enable all pupils to reach their potential.

Applicants must have recent and relevant experience working with young people, and a Level 4 HLTA qualification or higher including teachers with QTS. The role will be under the direction of the Key Stage 2 Leader working in small groups delivery Literacy & Numeracy boosting sessions on both a 121 and smaller group basis.

The role of the HLTA is;

• To promote positive behaviour in line with school behaviour policy, contributing to a successful learning environment.
• To support and extend pupil s learning through questioning, explanation, instructions and demonstrations.
• To make and maintain learning materials and resources for pupils.
• To observe pupils and feedback to the Class Teacher
• Communicate effectively and sensitively with pupils to support their learning.

The successful applicants will:

• Be educated to Level 4 HLTA or have a relevant qualification and experience in childcare.
• Have experience working as the lead adult in an educational setting.
• Be confident commanding a classroom.
• Have some experience with Year 6 SATs
• Be available on a full time basis.
