Design and Technology Teacher (Graphics Specialism) - Rainham, Medway

Are you a passionate and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher with a specialism in Resistant Materials?

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic educator to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Rainham, Medway. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging Lessons: Deliver dynamic and interactive Design and Technology lessons with a focus on Graphics catering to students of varying abilities from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
• Creative Teaching: Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement in Graphics.
• Supportive Environment: Create an inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages students to reach their full potential in both practical and theoretical aspects of Graphics.
• Assessment & Feedback: Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
• Collaborative Curriculum Design: Work with colleagues to design and deliver an inspiring Graphics curriculum that aligns with national standards and the school's educational objectives.
• Community Building: Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative learning community.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Or equivalent certification.
• Specialism in Graphics: A degree in Design and Technology or a related field, with a strong focus on Graphics.
• Experience: Proven experience teaching Design and Technology, particularly Resistant Materials, at the secondary level, preferably within a mainstream school.
• Enhanced DBS: Must have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Curriculum Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the UK national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate students.
• Passion for Woodwork: A genuine love for the subject and the ability to ignite that passion in students.
• Professional Development: A commitment to continuous professional growth and staying updated with the latest educational practices.
