Job Description

Our client, a prominent entity within the Defence & Security sector, specifically in the Defence discipline, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Human Factors (Safety) to join their Submarines business unit on a contract basis. This position is based in Barrow with hybrid arrangements allowing for remote work as needed. The duration of the contract is six months and will require a security clearance at the SC level.

• Writing human factors (HF) integration proposals
• Supervising junior personnel in safety action assessments
• Conducting task analyses
• Understanding and applying processes similar to those at AWE and Sellafield
• Coaching junior team members

• Background in human factors safety
• Experience working in hazardous environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage and supervise junior staff
• Excellent communication and coaching abilities
• Understanding of defence and security industry standards and regulations
• Capability to work both remotely and on-site as required
