Academics are looking for a passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex additional learning needs in a primary school in Newport, starting in January 2025. The role will be full time and long term, initially until Easter but will be extended until the end of the academic year with a permanent role also a possibility for the right candidate.

The pupil needs 1:1 support and your role will be to support the child in their mental, emotional and academic development.

The role of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons.
• Work with a pupil on a 1:1 basis
• Build and maintain professional relationships with staff members

What we will need from you as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant

• An enhanced DBS and registration with the EWC (We can assist you with this)
• Two recent and professional references
• Experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant or experience in an educational setting.
