Great opportunity to work as a General Operative for AMFRESH - one of the UK's largest citrus & grape specialists.

Staffline is recruiting General Operatives to work in Alconbury.

This is a fixed term contract of 6 months with guaranteed hours.

You must be able to follow a 4 on 4 off shift pattern on Days and Mon to Thurs pattern on Nights, the hours of work are:

Days - 7:30am to 7:30pm

The rate of pay is:
- First 12 weeks - £11.44 per hour - Overtime rate is £14.30
- After 12 weeks of service - £11.59 per hour - Overtime rate is £14.59

Nights - 7:30pm to 7:30am

The rate of pay is:
- First 12 weeks - £11.74 per hour - Overtime rate is £14.68
- After 12 weeks of service - £11.89 per hour - Overtime rate is £14.86

Transport is provided from 4 different locations in Peterborough for £8 per day

Your Time at Work
The General Operative role is central to the manufacturing team. You will receive support and guidance from the line leaders and machine operators while working closely with the trimmers to ensure a consistent supply of grapes to the production lines.

As a General Operative, your responsibilities will include:
- Playing a key role in feeding our grape lines with fresh grapes imported from around the world.
- Conduct quality checks on grapes and discard any that do not meet the quality standards.
- Stacking and breaking down pallets in preparation for their removal.
- Be flexible when switching between lines and product varieties, adjusting to the required pace of work.
- Supporting new starters once you're confident and comfortable in the role.
- Understanding and upholding food safety and integrity standards, ensuring they are maintained across your line at all times.
- Promoting a safe working environment by following health and safety protocols and ensuring trimming scissors are properly maintained and stored.
- Minimising waste by disposing of it properly and safely.

This role will involve standing for long periods of time, there may also be some heavy lifting required.

Adaptability will be essential to meet the evolving needs of the business.

While experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
