We are seeking an Accounts and Credit Control Assistant for a 12-month maternity contract with potential to go permanent in the future.
This role will suit a candidate with a minimum of 2 years accounts or finance and credit control experience looking for the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities
* Be fully responsible for the Accounts payable function, entering invoices and reconciling supplier statements
* Reconcile aged creditors report at the end of each month
* Month end tasks such as the bank reconciliation
* Submitting turnover figures to Key Customer Groups monthly
* Calculate and issue customer rebates
* Answering telephone calls directed to the Accounts department
* Setting up new customer Accounts in our bespoke computer system, including appropriate credit checking
* Chasing payments via telephone, email and written communications
* Support the credit control function by sending chasing letters
* Process credit card payments from smaller customers
* Responding to queries regarding customer accounts e.g. sending copy invoices, processing Credit Application Forms
* Handling invoice-related queries by looking into discrepancies and raising credit notes
What the employer is looking for
* 2 years plus in a similar Accounts/ Finance role
* Have a confident and enthusiastic telephone manner
* Enjoy speaking to customers on the telephone and be willing to chase payments
* Be highly organised and efficient
* Have a high level of numeracy
* Have experience of effectively utilising ICT
* Have a high level of literacy and possess excellent communication skills
* Work well in a fast-paced environment
* Have the ability to work well within a team and independently
