An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Newcastle City Council. This is a temporary Senior Practitioner role for the Children in Care and Care Leavers Team.

In this role you will benefit from an hourly rate of 35.32 per hour umbrella, whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment.

Working within the CIC and Care Leavers Team includes but is not limited to:

Holding a caseload of Looked after Children
Undertaking Core Assessments under Section 20 of the Children's Act of 1989
Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989
Producing Annex B reports
Undertaking Regulation 38 Assessments and Special Guardian Assessments
Liaising/ Working closely with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/ young peoples needs
Preparing & implementing Care Plans
Attending court and giving evidence when required
Obtaining Interim Care Orders/Interim Supervision Orders
Initiating and Completing Care Proceedings
Obtaining Special Guardianship Orders

For this position you will need hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered, as well as have sufficient post qualifying experience.
