Interim Technical Manager

Food Industry

(Apply online only) per day plus expenses outside IR35

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced technical manager in the food industry, who enjoys being at the heart of the factory, involved and working with the teams in each department. If you know you are a confident operator and have the interpersonal skills to build trust and integrate at speed, this is the ideal role. A large part of the role will be to drive improvements in the day-to-day technical activities as well as managing some projects along the way. This is a large, busy factory and you will need to be a strong multi-tasker with extensive food manufacturing experience.

Knowing the retailer standards, audit preparation and driving improvements to the 'always audit ready' standard is essential. This contract needs a confident communicator who is visible and has a tangible presence in the factory, understands the grey areas in manufacturing and can build relationships cross functionally.

What your background should include:

• Technical management experience in chilled food manufacturing and processing.
• Detailed understanding of retail audit and BRC compliance.
• Leadership experience - developing teams, working in the factory with multiple functions.
• Strong track record in food safety and compliance.
• Solid experience in manufacturing and communicating in busy environments where reprioritising comes as second nature.
• Confident in ensuring high standards are met by everyone in the factory, able to discuss and manage face to face discussions in a positive and clear way.
• Being proactive to plan ahead and able to react at speed.
• Always striving for and embedding the highest standards.

As mentioned above, this is a big factory, it will be a challenge and very operationally focussed, working with the teams, driving change.
