Job Description

Role: Interim Building Surveyor

Location: Surrey

Rate: £300 - £350 per day

Contract Type: Interim/Temporary

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, specification, and delivery of repair, maintenance, and improvement projects, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company standards.

Conduct building surveys and prepare documentation such as drawings, specifications, safety plans, and party wall awards.

Ensure all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations, procurement rules, and Construction Design & Management (CDM) standards.

Provide expert technical support to internal teams, offering solutions to challenges related to building works.

Monitor work on-site to ensure high-quality standards, promptly identify defects, and ensure timely rectification.

Administer contracts, manage contractor performance, and track project progress.

Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to ensure effective property management and client satisfaction.

Engage with residents and internal teams to address concerns and resolve issues quickly, respecting their preferred communication channels. Key Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding of building construction, maintenance, and common defects.

Familiarity with building contracts such as JCT Intermediate, Minor Works, and Measured Term Contracts.

Experience managing building projects from start to finish, including contract administration.

Knowledge of current health and safety regulations, CDM regulations, and asbestos management.

Awareness of planning regulations and their impact on building projects. Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical qualifications and experience.

Corporate membership with a professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) is preferred.

Proven experience in managing building projects, including repairs, refurbishments, and improvements.

Experience with building services installations and ongoing maintenance
