Migrant Help are currently looking for a Client Adviser to join their team. You will join us on a full time, maternity cover until 31 September 2025. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,639 - Increasing to £32,612 following successful completion of a 6 months probation period.

The Client Adviser role:
Part of the Asylum Services team, the Client Adviser in Napier is a rewarding role at Migrant Help. You will work to support residents of Napier Barracks; providing advice, guidance, assistance and support to eligible asylum seekers. You will contribute to the overall success of the organisation in accordance with Migrant Help’s aims and objectives by proving a high-quality service to its clients.

Key responsibilities of our Client Adviser:
Provide advice and support to asylum seekers, within the specification of the AIRE contract with the Home Office
Provide a support service to asylum seekers to complete asylum support application forms (ASF) for support under Section 95 and Section 4 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Ensure that all applicants are aware of eligibility criteria and their obligations to provide supporting evidence within required timescales and assist clients to notify the authority of prescribed change of circumstances
Provide telephone advice as may be required and support the telephone advice line by assisting clients to complete asylum support applications by telephone and by appointment
Provide guidance on immigration related matters advice within the scope of the relevant Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) accreditation level
Provide advice on general matters e.g. sign-posting in addition to providing advice on the Voluntary Assisted Return
Act as a contact with the Home Office, Social Services, Healthcare Professionals and other relevant agencies for applicants with additional support needs
You will work closely with the AASC provider, Home office, Health team and other NGO/VCS organisations based at Napier
Skills and experience we are looking for in our Client Adviser:
Ability to complete referral forms and records accurately
Ability to absorb complex written information and communicate effectively
Experience of working face to face with members of the public
Good inter-personal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people
Presentation skills with the ability to make briefing sessions interactive
