SOLICITOR

6 months contract

The following criteria (experience, skills and qualifications) will be used to short-list at the application stage:

Childcare locum solicitor with experience of Public Law Outline.

Expected to run a caseload of care proceedings and pre proceedings, attend court for Case Management Hearings, IRHs and Final Hearings (subject to capacity).

Qualified solicitor, 37 hours either over 5 days or compressed over 4

Essential

• Admitted solicitor/barrister
• Recent experience working in housing law or disrepair claims specifically
• Experience in the use of ICT (familiar with Word, Outlook and legal research websites)
• Ability to communicate effectively (in writing and orally) with a diverse range of people
• Ability to advise officers and councillors
• Ability to draft relevant legal documents -notices, statements, draft orders etc.

Desirable

• Recent experience in a local authority legal department.

The following criteria will be explored at the interview stage:

• Knowledge of housing management & ASB law
• Ability to communicate and reason verbally
• Presentation skills
• Approach to equalities
