Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer for a temporary contract, hourly paid basis, to teach students the essential skills and knowledge required in mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, guiding students through their learning journey, and ensuring they develop the skills needed for a successful career in the industry. An enhanced DBS check is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver engaging and effective lessons in mechanical engineering principles and practices.

* Plan and prepare course materials, including both theoretical lessons and practical workshops.

* Teach students the necessary skills, industry standards, and safety procedures relevant to mechanical engineering.

* Monitor students’ progress and provide support to ensure they are developing their technical skills.

* Foster a positive and safe learning environment where students can thrive.

* Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching methods and course content.

* Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols in practical workshops and labs.

Requirements:

* Relevant teaching qualifications (such as PTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent) are essential.

* Significant practical industry experience in mechanical engineering.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* A passion for teaching and mentoring students to help them achieve their potential.

* Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in mechanical engineering.

* An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
