First People Solutions have been tasked with the search of a CAD Technician on behalf of one of our clients based in Dublin.

Our client is a market leader in providing engineering, technical and professional and construction services. They have a track record of providing a variety of thier services to a wide variety of clients globally.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CAD Technician to join our Engineering and Technical teams, where you will be at the forefront of designing innovative infrastructure for active travel projects. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including walking and cycling facilities, bridges, drainage structures, junction designs, and other transport infrastructure.

As a key member of the team, you will support the development of active travel schemes from the initial options phase all the way through to construction. You will play an essential role in producing high-quality document packages and schematic designs that align with the project scope, design criteria, and applicable codes and standards, ensuring adherence to quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate requiremnts

• Expereince in AUTOCAD in the preparation of plans and contract drawings in a professional team environment with experience in Traffic, Highways or Urban Design
• Experience in associated Autodesk design software (such as AutoTrack and KeyLines)
• An understanding of design standards - MRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and DMURS and the National Cycle Manual would be particularly welcomed
• An understanding of general construction practices and procedures
• Collaborative approach with strong communication skills
• Practical thinker with a good eye for detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and designs
