Job Description

Lampton are working in partnership with The London Borough of Hounslow and West Thames College to place 8 local residents on our Fitness Instructor Trainee Programme. Employment opportunities in the Leisure sector is part of our Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP), designed to provide valuable employment pathways into the leisure industry. Please note, upon successful completion of the course, you will be offered the opportunity to interview for a Fitness Instructor position at one of our sites.

Our Fitness Instructor trainee programme will provide you with all the skills and knowledge you will need to become a fully qualified Fitness Instructor. 

At the end of the programme, you will acquire all the qualifications required to become a successful fitness instructor, including: 

Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training: West Thames College First Aid at 

Work Qualification

Pool Plant Operator Qualification: Post employment for career progression optio

Residents who meet the qualifications and match the job description will not be required to upskill or join the training programme.

Subject to UK Shared Prosperity Fund eligibility, training costs will be covered for residents who are currently unemployed.

To be successful, candidates will have

A passion for health and fitness

Experience of gym-based exercise, including free weights, is highly recommended.

The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.

Excellent communication skills

Experience delivering first class customer service is also essential.

Qualifications required

Ideally hold or have the ability to work towards a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction

Ideally hold or have the ability to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training

Ideally hold or have the ability to work towards a Pool Plant Operator Qualification · Ideally hold or have the ability to work towards a Level 3 Certificate in Leisure Management

What is the role of Fitness Instructor at Lampton Leisure?

Supervise activities and customers within the gym

Support customers to operate the equipment correctly

Ensure a safe, enjoyable and quality customer experience

Our sites are open from 6am - 10pm so flexibility with working hours is required
