Sports Coach (SEN Setting)
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Salary: £83.33 - £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Sports Coach to work within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a PE or Sports background to make a real impact in the lives of young learners with additional needs. We re looking for an individual who is passionate about using sports as a tool for engagement, development, and inclusion.

About the Role: As a Sports Coach in an SEN setting, you ll work closely with students with a variety of additional needs, helping them develop not only physical skills but also confidence, social abilities, and emotional well-being. You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to design and implement inclusive physical education activities tailored to each student s unique requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver sports and physical education activities tailored to students with SEN, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
• Work with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting activities to meet each individual s abilities and needs.
• Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, using sports as a medium for engagement and personal development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and SEN staff to align physical activities with broader educational goals.
• Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive attitudes among students, building their confidence and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

• A background in PE, sports coaching, or physical education is essential.
• Previous experience working in an SEN setting or with young people with additional needs is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to adapt coaching techniques to suit individual needs.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the update service.
