About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced supply chain environment. The role involves expediting shipments, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring the smooth delivery of goods to meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Expediting:
* Confirm purchase orders and estimated arrival times (ETAs) with suppliers.
* Update the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics GP) with accurate Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) and ETA dates.
* Proactively identify, resolve, and communicate delays with suppliers to internal stakeholders.
* Ensure production times align with agreed schedules and are accurately relayed to customer service teams.
* Monitor and mitigate potential supply chain delays, keeping stakeholders informed.
Customer Enquiries Management:
* Respond to internal enquiries regarding lead times and pricing within agreed timeframes.
* Assess and select suppliers based on price, lead time, and shipping options, retaining supporting documentation.
Order Shipment Coordination:
* Source products and create purchase orders using suppliers from the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
* Ensure on-time, in-full delivery using cost-effective shipping methods.
Data Integrity Management:
* Maintain and update supply chain information within the ERP system, including supplier details, pricing, and delivery terms.
Communication and Reporting:
* Provide monthly progress updates to the Supply Chain Manager, escalating issues as necessary.
* Collaborate with sales, solutions, and engineering teams on delivery schedules, pricing, and supplier details.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, expediting, or procurement.
* Experience with Far East shipping and knowledge of international air and sea freight regulations and Incoterms.
* Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft GP) and logistics software (e.g., TMS).
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Experience coordinating with suppliers and optimizing supply chain efficiency.
* Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Milton Keynes
