We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Bulk Port Operative. As part of a busy stevedore operation, you'll play a key role in the movement of cargo on and off ships at the docks. This role offers career progression, ongoing training, and flexible working hours with a company that values its employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the movement of cargo (including steel stock, bulk ships, and animal feed) on and off vessels at Liverpool docks. Follow clear safety and quality standards to ensure the safe and efficient handling of cargo. Participate in "on the job" training with experienced operatives, as well as classroom sessions to further your skills. Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe working environment. Potential for career development with additional training for more skilled roles and plant operation.
The Successful Candidate:
Will be flexible to work across both day and night shifts, depending on vessel schedules. A committed and reliable team player with a focus on safety. Excellent timekeeping and work ethic. Previous experience as a Port Operative, Warehouse Operative, Labourer, or similar roles is advantageous but not essential. Opportunity for refresher courses for those with existing or expired plant licenses.
