Job Title: Lean Construction Expert
Client: Pioneering Green Steel Production Company
Assignment Type: 6 months with expectation of further extension
Location: Stockholm or Boden, Sweden
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO ₂ compared conventional steel production.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Client are looking for a consultant to adhere to their operational excellence team. You will be responsible for implementing and promoting lean principles and methodologies within construction projects. This role involves enhancing project efficiency, minimizing waste, improving collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality construction projects. The expert collaborates with project teams and contractors to identify areas for improvement, develop strategies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lean Implementation Apply lean principles to construction planning, design, and execution processes.
Develop and implement value stream mapping, pull planning, and Last Planner® System.
Identify and eliminate waste in processes, materials, and workflows.
Process Improvement
Conduct assessments of current construction processes to identify inefficiencies.
Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
Establish performance metrics and continuously monitor progress.
Collaboration and Communication
Facilitate collaboration among project teams, contractors, and EPCMs to align goals and expectations.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on lean construction methodologies.
Serve as a liaison between teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Project Management Support
Assist in project scheduling, cost estimation, and risk management using lean tools.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
Support the development of integrated project delivery (IPD) systems.
Continuous Improvement
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and innovation.
Evaluate project outcomes to identify lessons learned and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience : 5+ years in construction project management, with at least 2 years in lean construction practices.
Certifications : Lean Six Sigma, Certified Lean Construction Professional (CLCP), or equivalent preferred.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills
Proficiency in lean tools and techniques (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Last Planner System).
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and project management.
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, or BIM tools).
Analytical Skills
Ability to analyze complex processes and identify areas for improvement.
Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
Leadership and facilitation skills to guide teams through lean transformations.
Adaptability and resilience to handle dynamic project environments
